Undoubtedly, Physical activity and exercise have many short and long-term benefits for our health span and longevity. For this reason, knowing how many minutes of moderate, vigorous, or a combination of both is vital information for the public. In this report, I will show you how many minutes of exercise and times per week are enough based on the latest scientific findings.
The scientific journal Circulation, published by the American Heart Association, found some interesting findings regarding longevity. According to the research, we can maximize mortality reduction by up to 42% if interacting with 150- 600 minutes of moderate cardiovascular per week and 75-300 minutes of vigorous cardio exercise per week.
The current public health guidelines recommend doing 150 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio per week, 75 minutes of vigorous cardio per week, or a combination of both. Researchers have found that this is the minimum recommended amount of minutes per week of cardio that can contribute towards our health benefits. In addition, this can help reduce cardiovascular disease mortality by 22-31%.
This brief explanation of the latest cardiovascular findings is about you and understanding how you can minimize long-term chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, Alzheimer’s, metabolism, and mental health. According to the CDC, six in ten adults in the US suffer from at least one type of chronic disease. However, the CDC and other public health organizations are staying active in combating these health issues.
Final thoughts: I recommend starting with a walk and progressing with time and intensity with time. Remember, progress is overtime, not overnight and it is never too late to start.
